RE: Press conference and results Monaco GP
a very welcome Mr.Goedhart to achieving 3rd place in the monaco GP.

thank you

Mr.Goedhart, can you tell us the race from your perspective?

i had a brilliant start. I passed Alain on the way towards T1. At that point i was not sure on what strategy he was. From pre qualifying tests it became clear that his BRM was very fast and competative as well as Buthe's BRM. Therefore it was crucial to me to get in front asap. P2 was the maximum i could achieve.

You managed opening a gap during the first few laps, but after that Alain came closer. He also tried to pass later on.

yeah, i tried to open a gap in the begin, but couldnt maintain the pace. I am always fast on cold tyres, but as soon Alains tryres became warm he began to push.
I tried to hold him up a little bit deliberatly going into the slow corners very slowly so that he couldnt get a fast exit speed. But at a certain point backmarkers came into play. I got hindered going into rascasse resulting in a slow exit speed. Alain immediatly positioned himself next to me on the right driving almost next eachother towards start finish corner. I braked very late, alost too late and it resulted in a unstable car. My car drifted a bit to the right where Alain was and i blocked him the corner. There was no way he could get pass there. After that small shunt Wolfgang positioned himself behind me.

We noticed that you were able to crate a gap for about 5 secs before entering the pits. However the pit crew was not working fast enough refuelling the car.

sadly that was the case yes. I just overtook a few backmarkers and the racedirector did not want me to drive out of the pits. So basicly 4 cars passed me during the pitstop. the backmarkers, Wolgang and Alain.
At that point after the stop i tried to push, but i did hit the guard rail a few times resulting in a damaged car. There was no chance to push anymore, only consolidating P3 till the end.

After all a very very exiting race even though i did not fully prepare myself.
Congratulations to Alain, who was really very very fast eve without making a pitstop. Congratulations to Wolfgang as well. As ever a very fair and fast racer.

Thank you Mr. Goedhart for the interview

youre welcome.

That was an amazing race!! supi

Starting from pole, I was overtaken by Jeroen and then a good fight began. Wolfgang quickly joined the party, and then overtook me as I missed a passing opportunity over Jeroen at Gazomètre.

I think he was a bit slower than us, so we were in a line that was very exciting. Rofl Then Wolf spun and he collected me, but I rejoined in front of him, while Jeroen had pull a 6 seconds gap. I was overtook once again by the BRM at Gazomètre, and then I suddenly decided to make my pit stop earlier than planned because my car was a bit damaged. Good choice!! Jeroen had a problem in pits and lost the lead, and I pulled 3-4 extra fast laps to make a "Schumacher pass" harhar

When Wolf came back on track, he saw me passing him, I enjoyed, and then as my tires were already hot I could pull away a good gap and secure the win!

Thank you all for this very exciting race, it was a blast all along smile

Too bad Stefan wasn't in the race for the lead, and BIG thank you to all the lappers who were extremely fair-play!! That's what GPL is all about! grinz

I hope that I'll be able to make some other 65 races with you guys ;)

RE: Press conference and results Monaco GP
Mr. Buthe , You finished on position 2 after a very exiting battle between Goedhart and de Mautor. How do You feel about this result ?

I'm quite satisfied with this result after the prequalifiing times of Antoine and others. There was no way for me to lap Monaco under 1:28 , but I was concentrated on a stable race setup to have the occation to attack during the race. My team did a great job , the car was perfectly prepaired for a long race and over all I could manage a competitive pace.

What happened at the casino with de Mautor ?

This was my fault. I touched the railguard unfourtunately and spun. Antoine was only 2 or 3 seconds behind me and had no chance because I blocked the whole road. Sorry to Antoine.
But this was a very bad incident for my race. Unsure about the strategie of Jeroen and Antoine I tried to push for enough time gap to refill my fueltank around lap 30. At this time I thought I was quick enough to reach Jeroen and Antoine hadnt his best time at this point of the race. But the crash destroyed my hopes for a better result.

Did You had too much pressure to win the race ?

No , as we all know Monaco needs a patient driver. It was a question of loosing concentration.

But later on You had some good situations again

It was big fun to overtake Antoine when he was blocked a little bit at gazometer. Thats what the race let become exiting again.
Further more, when I saw that Jeroen entered the pits too early for a one stop strategie in lap 27, I thought he wouldnt have enough fuel on board and also Antoine 's pitstop was too early .
I wondered whether they had to stop again for a splash at the end of the race. I was neerly sure about it, because I didnt knew the real reason. So I didnt push when Antoine passed me when I left the pits. At this time he won a gap of more than
8 seconds and I wasnt able to close it. This was my second fault in this race.  Now I know he had a bit more fuel as it was necessary for 30 laps.

And Your race impressions over all ?

Very exiting and fair competition with all drivers. No single problem with passing a backmarker, absolute great sportsmanship on all positions in the grid.Anbeten
A fine race !

thanks for your statement and good luck at Lime Rock Park !

Thank You too !

RE: Press conference and results Monaco GP
Quite a lonley race for me most the time, but lets begin with the Qualy I made some errors in the last part of the lap, so my lap wasn´t as good as expected.
At the start i lost 1 place i think but quickly regained it because someone infront of me amde an error. Well the guys in front of me pulled away as I tried to hold off Stefan and Simon behind me.

First I had Simon at my rear pushing hard to get by, what he eventualy did at the S/F straight but I wash able to get passed him again as he made an error.
After that Stefan was behind me following me lap after lap. He was close but never really tried to get by me. So I was really suprised when he bumped me at Gazometre sending me wide into the turn allowing Simon, who was behind us, to get side by side with me on S/F again. We went into St. Devote side by side. I knew he was there and I tried to stay at the left side. But unfourtunatly he touched me. I spun around luckly not dammaging anything, but allow Simon and Stefan to pass me.

Well I was very soon alone on track, all once and a while I met Achim and the others backmarkers got lapped sometimes. Until my pribluda began to flicker as Quality bar went to 100. So that was it disco.
But it was a great race anyways

Cheers
