Sorry , Stefan , I may have expressed not correct myself.
You can select a Team of Your choise. A Team is for example the Brabham Team, witch is for all mods placed in the brabham carfolder. If You've selected Brabham You ride the BT24 for 67, the BT11 for 65 and the BT26 for 69 and so it is released the BT20 for 66. That's the regular way.
It is not written in the rules to select the bt7 as You mentioned.
I think this is a mistake in our rules, because of cource the BT7 belonges to the Brabham Team.
The same with the Lotus 63 while it belonges to the Cooper Team as far as we only look on the carfolder.
I will change this rule in the following way:
It isn't an advantage to select the BT7 (would regular belong to the Eagle Team car folder ) for drivers of the Brabham Team. So You may select the BT7, if You are a Brabham man !
It's also no advantage for a driver to select the Lotus 63 ( would regular belong to the Cooper Team car folder ) if the Lotus team was choosen.
It is possible to select the following car combinations:
Team Brabham:
BT 7
or BT11 for 65
BT20 for 66
BT24 for 67
BT26 for 69
This constallation is competitive over all. It is of cource free to use the BT7 as a Team car as well !
Team Lotus:
Lotus 33 for 65
Lotus 43 for 66
Lotus 49 for 67
Lotus 49b
or Lotus 63 for 69
( all cars are very competitive instead of the Lotus 63 . The driver may have his choise to use the Lot63 )
Team BRM:
BRM P261 =65 (competitive)
BRM P 83 =66 (competitive)
BRM P 115=67 (less competitive)
BRM P 126/139=69 (less competitive)
BRM drivers are allowed to select one other car for one mod during the whole season.
Team Cooper:
Cooper-Climax T77 = 65 (less competitive)
Cooper Maserati T81=66 (competitive)
Cooper Maserati T81b =67 (less competitive)
Lotus 63 = 69 (less competitive)
Cooper drivers are allowed to select on other car for one mod during the whole season.
Team Honda:
Honda RA272 = 65
Honda RA273 = 66
Honda RA300 = 67
Matra MS 80 = 69
This constellation is very competitive over all, even if the RA 300 has a little malus among the 67 cars.
Team Ferrari:
Ferrari 1512 =65
Ferrari 312 =66
Ferrari 312 =67
Ferrari 312b =69
This constellation is very competitive over all, even if the 67 and 69 Ferraris have a little malus among the 67/69 cars. BTW Ferrari drivers drive allways Ferrari
Team Eagle:
Brabham BT7 = 65 ( less competitive)
Eagle-Climax = 66 ( less competitive )
Eagle Weslake = 67 (very competitive )
McLaren MP7 = 69 (competitive )
This constallation contains two less competitive cars and the driver is free to select one other chassis for one mod during the whole season.
In addition we give extra points for slower cars as You can read in the rules, because we would like to see all chassis in the grids and a driver shouldn't be totaly uncompetitive if he would like to drive one of the also beautifull slower cars.
To select a "Team" shall insure the identitiy of the driver and prevent drivers from jumping into cars with best properties for the actual track. That wasn't possible for any driver in real life.
I hope this will make things clearer !
Thx Stefan for Your question and the advice ! This must be corrected in the rules.
Wolfgang.
